SDI is a world leader in non-contact, electrical measurement systems for real time production monitoring and process characterization in the semiconductor industry.
SDI recently introduced non-contact product wafer measurements, in scribe line test sites or active cell area. They are the first and only such tools available in the industry. Major applications include measurements of Si / SiO2, and other more advanced high and low-K dielectrics: Full C-V and I-V characteristics, electrical dielectric thickness (EOT and CET), and oxide charge measurements.

This Division is responsible for the development and pre-award administration of Research Proposal Services activities at all USF campuses. Coordination and management of external and internal contracts and grants, interdisciplinary research programs, and inter- and intra-institutional proposals are also included in the Division's responsibilities. The Division is vital to the University's post-award audit process, facilitating accountability to sponsoring agencies. The Research Foundation was formed as a direct-support organization for the University in order to provide broad and flexible financial mechanisms in support of research operations, contracts and grants, and to facilitate the commercialization of university inventions. The Research Foundation is responsible for receiving and administering all royalties related to intellectual property, and acts as a fiduciary entity on behalf of the licensee and university programs. The Research Foundation also acts as the fiduciary entity for private contracts and grants.
